Starting a new exercise routine with New Look

As you may have seen on my Instagram stories, I've been really struggling with my ankle recently. I'm now out of my brace (and into some hot-pink tape!) and able to exercise again. What's more motivating than new gym gear? Nothing! So when New Look got in touch with the chance to try out some of their new sportswear collection, I jumped at the chance! (At least, I would have if I could jump right now!)

The first product that I just HAD to try was the £9.99 Black Panelled Sports Leggings. I have tried so many different leggings, with many different price points, and I am so impressed by these. The quality is amazing for under £10 and they're really flattering. I love the really thick waist band and they make your bum look so peachy! These leggings are definitely versatile and have a good amount of stretch so they would be perfect whether you're doing weights, cardio or even a gym class.

No gym outfit is complete without a sports bra, and this Crochet Trim Sports Crop Top is gorgeous. I absolutely love the back detail and it has a good amount of support. If you're looking for a top to cover up a little more, then New Look have a great range of slogan tees specifically designed for sportswear - I couldn't resist this Pancakes Pilates Prosecco Vest! This vest is super cute and I love that it covers your back properly. I have very sensitive skin and can often react to the cleaning products used on the machines, this top will be great for protecting my back when using the chest press!

The last piece I picked up was this Chevron Colour Block Sweatshirt. I'm trying to add some outdoor walking into my exercise routine - it's so important to get some fresh air and this sweatshirt is great to throw on during the warmer days. Need some help getting back into your fitness routine now that the "New Year, New Me" excitement has worn off? Check out my top tips below:

1. Be realistic
Don't set yourself up to fail by setting unachievable goals. Break your long term plans into short term ones and adjust depending on how well you're achieving them!

2. Grab a buddy
I'm not a big fan of working out with someone, but this weekend I'm going swimming with my mum. It's always nice to have a little cheerleader to motivate you, and you'll be amazed by how quickly the time goes whilst you're chatting!

3. Try something new
Are you stuck in a rut with your exercise routine? Do you feel bored? Has your progress stopped? Try something new to challenge your body and shake up your routine! I always recommend boxing as a fun new sport to try!

4. Start making the gym fun
I love getting 'dressed up' for the gym... Sassy outfits make me feel confident, which makes me work out for longer. You don't need to worry about why people are looking at you if you're wearing a slogan tee - you know why!
